Small business is not a smaller version of big business

Large firms are organized around large clients: quarterly committees, audit trails, staff who rotate off your account every year. An owner with one location, eleven employees and a truck payment needs something different — someone who answers the phone, knows the business, and does not send a bill for the call.

That is what this firm does. Bookkeeping, tax filing, payroll and planning under one roof, for a flat monthly fee agreed in advance. A large share of our clients are first-generation immigrant and minority owners, and being able to explain a K-1 in a client's own language is part of the service, not an extra.

The work is year round on purpose. Most of what lowers a tax bill has to happen before December 31, and most of what turns into a penalty starts with a letter nobody opened in August. We would rather have the conversation in July.
