Small business bookkeeping in Baltimore, MD
Receipts in a drawer and a bank balance you check with your fingers crossed is not a bookkeeping system. We close your books every month so you always know where the business stands — and so April stops being an emergency.
Every month, without you chasing us
The same closing routine each month, so the numbers are comparable from one period to the next.
- Every bank, credit-card and merchant transaction categorized to a chart of accounts built for your industry
- Bank and credit-card reconciliation, so the books and the statements actually agree
- Monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet, delivered as a PDF and available in QuickBooks Online
- Accounts payable and receivable tracking, so you can see who owes you and what is due
- Sales-tax figures prepared for filing where your business collects it
- Owner draws, loans and credit-card transfers recorded properly instead of landing in income
- Fixed-asset and depreciation schedules kept up to date for the tax return
- Year-end package handed straight to the tax preparer — us, or whoever files for you
Why monthly matters. A business that closes its books once a year finds out in March that it should have made a purchase in December, elected S-corporation status in January, or set aside money for a quarterly estimate in June. All three decisions have deadlines, and all three are gone by the time a once-a-year bookkeeper opens the file.
Behind by a year? By three?
That is a normal starting point, not a confession.
We rebuild the missing periods from bank and card statements, reconcile them, and get the balance sheet to a place where it can be trusted. Then we file the returns that were missed, deal with the notices that arrived in the meantime, and only after that start the regular monthly cycle.

Bookkeeping questions we hear most
Q Do I need QuickBooks to work with you?
We do our monthly work in QuickBooks Online and we are Certified ProAdvisors, so that is where we are fastest. If your records live in spreadsheets, in another app or in a shoebox, we move them over as part of the onboarding.
Q My books are years behind. Can you still help?
Yes — it is one of the most common reasons owners call. We rebuild the prior periods from bank and card statements, then file whatever returns were missed, then start the regular monthly cycle.
Q How much does bookkeeping cost?
Starter is $349 per month for a business with up to $30,000 in monthly expenses and Core is $499. Above that the price moves in tiers with your monthly expenses — the table above shows every tier.
Q Will the same firm also file my tax return?
It can, and that is the point of one firm: the return is built from records we already trust. Fewer questions in March, fewer amended returns later.
